Our tutors are qualified, native speakers and have over 12 years experience teaching a wide range of students.

We understand that qualifications are one thing but getting on with a tutor is at least as important. We ensure that all of our tutors are friendly, engaging and will give you a real feel for the warmth of the culture of France.

It's also worth remembering that we are not a tutoring agency. We do not allocate you a tutor, take your money and forget about you. All tutors work for us directly, we are local and we will stay in regular contact with you throughout your learning experience.

We specialise in one to one tuition and can arrange for a tutor to teach you at your home, office or other convenient location. Before starting your lessons we’ll speak with you about your experience and motivation for learning a language so we can create a learning programme best suited to you.

This depends on tutor availability and the flexibility of your own diary. We aim to have you learning the language within 7 days.

At home, at the office or at our premises. We try to be as flexible as possible so that you can fit your language learning in with the rest of your lifestyle and in a location that you feel comfortable.

No! We are not an agency. Our tutors are local and we are a local company servicing the needs of language learners in and around Colchester.

The prices seen on our pricing page include reasonable travel expenses for lessons in and around the Colchester area. In some cases, however, your tutor may have to travel a greater distance and for these an agreed travel charge for the tutor may need to be added on a case by case basis. If you think you fall outside of our catchment area, call us for a quote.

We can teach you at a time of your choosing from early morning to evening. Our tutors also often work at the weekends. Call us for availability.

Yes. Learning with friends or colleagues is a great way to learn as you’ll be able to interact in class with role-plays and also practise with each other after classes. It is also more cost effective to learn in a group.

No, you will not be charged for lessons you do not use. Courses are flexible to take account of holidays and illness etc. and lessons can be rescheduled for another convenient date and time. We only ask that you give your tutor 24 hours notice to cancel the session otherwise it will be charged at the full lesson rate.

Your level will be assessed by your tutor as part of your first lesson. Together you will be able to set your goals and decide upon a suitable learning plan.

Yes, we can arrange for a tutor to come to your office and teach one-to-one or in small groups. We don’t normally recommend classes of more than 6 students.

This depends on why you want to learn and what your aims are and we can discuss this with you. Ideally students should try and take two lessons per week as this helps to reinforce learning, although we understand that some people do not have the time. The important thing is to complete any homework you’ve been given and practise a little and often.

As a rough estimate, for beginners who are looking to attain a basic level where they can get by in a foreign country will usually need around 18 hours of tuition.

Most students find that a lesson of 1.5 hours is about right, although some prefer a longer 2 hour lesson. Some younger students or those who do not have much time opt for 1 hour sessions. For intensive learners we can arrange longer sessions.

All of our lesson costs are set out in our pricing page which can be found here. We do not charge a registration fee. We do not insist on block booking. Prices do vary depending on the length of the lesson and how many students the lessons are for but essentially you are paying for the tutors time without any hidden extra costs.

Payment for all lessons is made in advance for an agreed number of sessions. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer.

If you want to pay as you go, that's fine. If you would rather block book, that's fine too. If you are looking for an intensive course, call us and we'll give you a quote.

Yes, we can arrange for your company to be invoiced directly for an agreed block of lessons as long as the tuition has been approved.

Private tuition is nothing like school! All lessons whether for pleasure or business will take place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our tutors are all professionals and will do their best to put you at ease and make your learning experience enjoyable and fun. Many GCSE and A-level students benefit greatly from private tuition as it takes them out of the classroom environment which they find intimidating.

Private tuition is the fastest and most effective way to learn a language. Private tuition can be tailored to your exact needs whether you are learning for pleasure, business or an academic qualification. There's no being pushed into the shadows by the class swot and the tutors attention is always yours.

Your tutor will provide you with the handouts and course material required for your lesson. Some students prefer to buy there own textbooks and our tutors can advise you on which texts will help you to achieve your goals.

No, we don't offer exams and you won't find yourself being assessed like you were at school. The ultimate test is how quickly we get you to reach your goal. Speaking the language.

That said we have many years of experience of supporting people in working towards there GCSE and A levels.

Our tutors have lots of experience teaching children and we are able to arrange tuition for key stage 2 through to A-level. For GCSE and A-level we have tutors who are familiar with the National Curriculum and the various different exam boards so we can help your child achieve the highest grades.

We do not run groups or courses in the traditional 'night school' manner. We feel that most people get the maximum benefit and value for money from learning one-to-one or in small groups of less than six. Many clients choose to learn with friends, familly or colleagues.
