I took French language classes several years ago for a period of five years, starting out as a complete beginner. The classes were one-to-one and were relaxed and informal, allowing me to work at a pace that suited me and to feel comfortable enough to ask about anything I was unsure of as I went along. As a result of taking these classes, I felt confident enough to study in France for a period of six months to put my language skills into practice, before going on to do a GCSE in French, for which I achieved an A*.
